Refund Policy

You can request a refund within 30 days of a payment: Starter packs are refunded in proportion to the credits you haven’t used, subscriptions for the remaining days of the billing period. Credits for failed generations come back automatically.

Version 1.3Effective October 17, 2026

In short

  • Starter pack: request within 30 days of payment and get back the share of that purchase’s credits you haven’t used. Nothing used means a full refund.
  • Subscription: request within 30 days of any payment and get back the remaining days of that billing period. A refund ends that period of the subscription and what remains of it.
  • Failed generations return their credits automatically; there is nothing to request.
  • Email help@lightlyn.com. We reply within 3 business days, and approved refunds go back to your original payment method.

1. Starter packs

Time limit: within 30 days after a payment is completed, you can ask for a refund of the amount corresponding to all unused credits from that purchase. After 30 days, the general refund rules of this policy no longer apply.

How it is calculated: refund = amount actually paid for that purchase × unused credits remaining ÷ credits granted by that purchase. For example, if you paid US$9.90 for 800 credits and have 400 left, you can get US$4.95 back. If you haven’t used any, you get a full refund; if you have used them all, there is nothing to refund. The final amount is calculated in the smallest unit of the payment currency.

After a refund, the corresponding credits are removed from your account and the extra library storage from that purchase is withdrawn. If you still have another active paid plan, your storage is the highest of the remaining plans. Smaller storage never deletes existing work; see the pricing page.

2. Subscriptions and cancellation

Cancel online at any time: you can cancel under “Manage subscription & billing” in Account & settings › Billing, or from the subscription emails Dodo Payments sends you. You don’t need to contact us or give a reason. After you cancel you won’t be charged again, and you keep the current period’s credits and storage until it ends.

Refund by the day: within 30 days of your first payment or any renewal, you can ask for a refund of the remaining part of the billing period that payment covers. Refund = amount actually paid for the period × days remaining in the period ÷ total days in the period. Days used are counted up to the time you request the refund, in 24-hour days, with any part of a day counted as a full day; the total days follow the period’s actual start and end. For example, if you are 10 days into a 30-day period, 20 days remain and you can get back 20/30 of that period’s fee.

What happens after a refund: once a refund is approved, the subscription ends and will not renew. When the refund is completed, the remaining subscription credits for that period (including any carried over from the period before) and its extra library storage are withdrawn. Starter packs bought separately and credits we gave you keep their own rules. Cancelling a subscription does not by itself trigger a refund; if you only cancel the next renewal, you keep the current period’s benefits until it ends.

Failed renewals: if a renewal payment fails, Dodo Payments may retry over a few days. If the payment never goes through, the subscription ends and you owe nothing.

3. Free credits

Credits from the daily check-in, and credits we give as gifts, compensation or promotions, cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash and are not counted in refund amounts.

4. Failed generations and billing errors

When a task is confirmed to have failed, its reserved credits are returned automatically; you don’t need to ask. Credits are also not charged when a request or its result does not pass a safety check.

If an image goes missing, credits stay reserved for a long time, you are charged twice, or a payment succeeds but the credits don’t arrive, contact us with the order number or task ID. Once we verify the problem, we will return the credits or refund the payment.

5. Unhappy with a result

AI-generated results vary, and not liking a result does not by itself count as a failed generation, so credits for images that were generated successfully are usually not returned. But if a result clearly did not follow your request (for example a badly broken, corrupted or blank image), you can contact us for a review, and we may return the credits at our discretion.

6. Price changes

The current per-image prices are launch prices. When per-image prices change (including when regular prices take effect), we will let you know by email. We will give at least 30 days’ notice of any change to the subscription price; a new subscription price takes effect from the next billing period, and you can cancel before then. If you don’t accept a new per-image price, you can ask for a refund of all your unused paid credits; such refunds are handled as described in the price change notice.

7. How to request a refund

  1. Email help@lightlyn.com from your account email address with “Refund request” in the subject line.
  2. Include the order number (on your Dodo Payments receipt) or the date of purchase, and the reason for your request. Please never send card numbers or passwords.
  3. Send your request within 30 days of the payment. We will handle it as quickly as we can and reply within 3 business days. Refunds are returned to your original payment method through Dodo Payments; how long they take to arrive depends on your bank or payment provider, usually 5–10 business days.

8. Other terms

  • If your account is closed for a serious violation of the Acceptable Use Policy, we may, to the extent the law allows, refuse to refund amounts connected with the violation, but we will not keep unused paid credits that have nothing to do with it.
  • We may refuse refunds and restrict accounts in cases of clear refund abuse, such as repeatedly buying and refunding to get around limits.
  • If there is a problem with a payment, contacting us first is usually faster than filing a chargeback with your bank. This does not affect any of your legal rights.
  • This policy does not limit refund, withdrawal or other consumer rights that the law where you live gives you. In the EU, the UK and similar places, you agree when you buy that the digital service starts immediately, so the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal may no longer apply once you start using credits. The refund rights in this policy still apply.
  • This policy may be offered in several languages. The English version is the official version; if a translation differs from it, the English version prevails.
